Last year’s (2011) October snow storm (“Alfred”) caused extensive damage to trees throughout the state and triggered a public debate over proper management of trees.

A snow storm in October 1805 caused similar damage to trees in Cornwall. The main difference between the two storms was the damage done to overhead power lines in 2011.
